We also firmly believe in preventive care being the best course of action when it comes to long term oral health.
This means we recommend parents bring their little ones in to see us when their first tooth erupts or by their first birthday – whichever comes first. Our bespoke attitude towards oral health extends to even our youngest patients, and we’ll always endeavour to make our young patients feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. We take the utmost care with our youngest patients, and always respect both their and their parents’ wishes.
Active treatment is fairly uncommon at a young age, but it’s important to get young children used to visiting the dentist. This not only instils good habits and expectations when it comes to their continued oral health and hygiene, but it can also help prevent any dental phobias or anxiety from developing.
Regular check-ups from a young age will also help us spot any potential issues in the early stages. In older children, this could range from tooth decay and cavities to orthodontic treatment.
